Scott Wood, MFT Intern

Scott Wood is a marriage and family therapist intern. Scott brings to Life Spring Center over 20 years of experience in Christian lay ministry and 25 years of experience in the business world. Scott brings a solution-focused perspective to his counseling and a perspective on developing and maintaining healthy relationships in positive ways across a variety of settings.

Counseling
Scott has a passion for helping couples and families navigate the challenges that are common to marriage and family life. Scott believes that people are capable of creating and maintaining healthy relationships and are capable of taking positive action in their life to solve their problems and to meet their personal goals. In other words, people are resilient and resourceful. In many cases, Scott believes that therapy can be a brief process in which he desires to empower clients to find hope that problems can be solved, gain perspective on troubling issues, and find productive paths to move forward.

  • Education
Scott received his marriage and family therapy education at Bethel Seminary San Diego and his clinical experience at San Diego Hospice where he worked with clients on end of life issues and families coping with grief and loss. In a sense, problems in life always involve some kind of coping with grief: grief over the loss of a relationship, the loss of meeting personal goals; the loss of grappling with one's hopes and one's actual experience.
